Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow is a 2003 side scrolling and platforming video game developed and published by Konami for the Game Boy Advance. Producer Koji Igarashi, who led the production teams for previous Castlevania titles, led Aria of Sorrow's development. It is set in the year 2035, where Dracula has long been sealed away from a battle in 1999. The plot follows the journey of Soma Cruz, a teenager granted occult power as a result of being a potential vessel of Dracula's reincarnation as he battles dark figures who wish to inherit the undead lord's power. The game incorporates the combination of elements from platform games and role-playing video games that were initially utilized in previous game Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Aria of Sorrow introduces several new features to the series, such as the "Tactical Soul" system and a futuristic storyline, a contrast to the medieval setting of many other Castlevania games. I do think media, and specifically video games are over represented on TFA. So I am aware of some hypocrisy on my part. However, I have seen that no Castlevania games have been featured yet, even though it's a fairly important game series. If it is felt that it is too close to the last game article running (which are over represented on TFA relative to their cultural importance) I can retract it and it can run at a later date. As for the image, I do not think that the game cover is a free image. But the image of producer Koji Igarashi is a "Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 2.0 Generic license". Which... For image, I may have found a good one. The stylized Castlevania logo. It says that it is in the public domain. I'm going to try that and see if it works. Even if it's a logo, it looks good to have an image. For the lede, I made some edits to it before to make it more TFA friendly, reorganizing things. Can someone please try rewriting "His powers are to be passed on to his reincarnation", which makes no sense to me? "as a result being" looks to be missing a word. And there's nothing from the fifth paragraph of the lead (5 paragraphs? really? does this comply with WP:LEAD?) in this blurb - I would have thought there's stuff there that's worth mentioning in preference, if necessary, to what's here (such as the exact date that the game was released in each continent, which I've removed as unnecessary detail for a main-page blurb). I'll have a look at the article today.

For the plot, Dracula was killed in 1999. He is reincarnated as Soma Cruz. However, he doesn't have Dracula's power (which is tied to his demonic castle). Soma and several others are in the Castle trying to inherit Dracula's power. I'm not sure how it can be explained better in the blurb. --Harizotoh9 (talk) 14:30, 9 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
