Harry Truman in 1947

Harry Truman was a great American hero from Missouri. He enlisted in the U.S. military and fought in France during World War I. Returning home from the war, Truman started a business, but went bankrupt. He then became a successful politician and rose among the ranks. As Senator, Truman voted for the confirmation of Supreme Court Associate Justice, William O. Douglas and despised Republicans. Truman knew of the corruption at the Internal Revenue Bureau and submitted a plan to reform it. Truman drew media attention for the announcement of the Atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki that ended World War II. He died in 1972. Truman was the subject of a number of published works. He was portrayed on television by actor Gary Sinise. (Full article...)

Comment: As one of the principal authors (the other is unlikely to weigh in here) I'd really like to see how it is envisioned this would run before giving my thumbs up as a voter. (note: I play no role as coordinator in deciding whether this article should run). Can you prepare a sandbox draft or some such?--Wehwalt (talk) 07:02, 11 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Comment: Having two articles on the same day has occurred before. One with two separate blurbs whereas two featured articles ran in the same blurb. When I read their bios, I found it interesting how they are both Americans, both were enlisted and in France during World War I, both ran businesses, both involved with William O. Douglas, both dealt with explosions that released a large amount of energy, and both portrayed by actors on television. The most important thing is they have both the first and last names and both are FA-class articles. I'll try to create a blurb that combines the two men. Update: Here's an updated blurb of the Two Harry Trumans. FunksBrother (talk) 16:47, 11 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
