Dissemination of knowledge: Wikipedia and the African magazines.

[edit]

The printed paper represents the unique way to distribute knowledge? Is there really place online for everyone? Access to the broadcasting networks and the Africa knowledge spread. During the meeting, the Chimurenga Library project and the Chimurenga Library on Wikipedia will be launched, an archiving online library that profiles African magazines. The professor Alessandra Di Maio, the writers Igiaba Scego, Sami Tchak and the filmmaker Gaston Kaboré will discuss about the role of cultural and literary magazines, both living and extinct, which have been influential platforms for dissent and which have broadened the scope for print publishing on art, new writing and ideas in and about Africa. The guests are invited to present songs, books, films which influenced them, a magazine that they admire or they have been involved in, or to comment one of the magazines selected by Chimurenga for its library.

Borders: How many roads I had to walk on, how many languages I had to learn.

[edit]

The professor Alessandro Triulzi will chair another panel on migration and narration, new roads and new languages of migrants and asylum-seekers in Italy. It is important in today's Italy to keep talking of the migratory issue, and revisit the various 'yesterday, tomorrows' in progress. While Europe is building walls around its self a flow of migrant energy pass through and over roads, borders, languages, rhythms and poetry. The writer Nuruddin Farah, Gabriele Del Grande author of the blog Fortress Europe, the Professor Federica Sossi, Marco Carsetti of the Association Asinitas and the filmmaker Dagmawi Yimer attend to the discussion.
