This page is a subproject for templates related to Wikipedia:WikiProject Aircraft. Specifically, templates for presenting the standard specifications and the standard 'related content' footer. Please discuss this topic.
Goals[edit]
Ordered by importance.
- The parametres of the template should maximise ease of editing. For example, abbreviations should be avoided to ensure that editors understand exactly what to enter in the parametre field.
- The template should have sufficient flexibility to be applied to virtually all aircraft articles.
- The template should make it as easy as possible for WikiProject Aircraft to change standards retroactively. Specifically, changing the standards should require editing of the template only, rather than editing of each individual aircraft article.
- There should be no more than one template used to represent the specifications, excluding subtemplates.
Relevant projects[edit]
- Template:Airtemp-test: attempt by Ericg to create a template for specifications. Still under development.
- User:Ingoolemo/Airtemp: variant of {{Airtemp-test}} created by Ingoolemo. Still under development.
User:Ingoolemo/Airspec-imp: specifications template created by Ingoolemo. Similar to {{User:Ingoolemo/Airtemp}}. Main difference: Airtemp allows editors to decide which units are used, Airspec-imp does not. Still under development.Concept has been abandoned by Ingoolemo.- Template:Aircontent: used for 'related content' footer. Has been implemented in several aircraft articles.
