February 17[edit]

I am having trouble getting my page approved: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Holistic_Management_International_%28HMI%29

I went into the live chat and the only thing they said is wrong was a link at the very beginning. I removed that. What else needs to be done? Live chat said nothing else.

Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hminternational (talkcontribs) 02:48, 17 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Done  I touched it up a bit.  Otherwise, looks good to me, and I'm in Albuquerque. :- ) DCS 03:13, 17 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

User:Dcshank/Red flagYou have to change your user name, however. Notice is on your talk page. :- ) DCS 03:30, 17 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I believe there is sufficient content for this page to require an article of its own. The pages for The E.L.F.'s EPs were approved (with less content), yet the musicians debut album (with more content) has been rejected. Judging by the content of their profile page, I believe the reviewer has a strong bias opinion of certain music and therefore shouldn't be reviewing this article. The only issue that was brought to my attention, was that the article couldn't be published due to lack of footnotes. This has since been rectified, so I'm not quite sure what the problem is. Can you please advise or assist? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ghostpatrol86 (talkcontribs) 07:30, 17 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Generally, an album or other recording must have its own notability. This means it must be supported by independent sources as per the general notability guideline. The only source on the page is the bandcamp page, this is not an independent source and only verifies existence. See why notability is not inherited and the notability guidelines for albums. I have put merge requests onto the other two EP pages, as they are little more than track listings. A412 (Talk * C) 15:23, 17 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I wrote a Reference link into the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cak81 (talkcontribs) 11:59, 17 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That's a great start, but please note that an article with only one source is not likely to be kept. Nolelover Talk·Contribs 19:47, 17 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This article is NO LONGER NECESSARY as there now is a wikipedia article on Zelda Kaplan. Thus please delete this article for creation. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.175.77.205 (talk) 17:39, 17 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Done. A412 (Talk * C) 18:16, 17 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia-

I recently submitted an article for Wiki that was rejected due to its lack of importance or significance of the subject. I would argue that racquetball, cricket and other similar sports are not significant nor do they affect human life in a way that it must be a staple of life or worthy of being included in Wiki. On a side not, I do not have any published works to reference etc... because it was a game recently invented. So there is not literature or research on the sport. But my family and I are gathering a small following that could end up as big as racquetball, handball or other similar games. I submitted this article because I am trying to get the word out to the American population and others because the more people that start playing, the more notoriety it will get. Then, I will be able to site works etc... See where I am going? I am not sure when the racquetball article was submitted and approved but the game has been around for many years and probably only recently was an article approved. I ask that you please accept this article so that I may gather a following and make this sport a good one. My brother submitted an article in our local newspaper. Would that help to achieve a successful submission?

Sincerely,

The problem is that one of the tenets of Wikipedia is verifiability. Without reliable, verifiable sources, the article cannot be accepted. This is required to show notability. If the sport does become popular and it is written about by secondary sources, feel free to resubmit. However, Wikipedia is not a primary source and thus cannot become an original publisher of information as it would qualify as original research. A412 (Talk * C) 18:23, 17 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
When it's "as big as racquetball" it will be notable. Until then, Wikipedia isn't a source of free publicity. joe•roetc 19:28, 17 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
