You can just leave it as-is; it will be declined as a duplicate of an existing article which you can improve instead. I believe the draft's level of detail was excessive anyway; I just had a look at some other random football player articles, and none of those I checked provided such trivia as the receiving yards the player scored in a given year. At the very most, a single table would suffice for that information. Besides, until he has actually played for the 49ers, he may be non-notable ber WP:NGRIDIRON. how to get first article published[edit]

I have written an article, that has been declined, but can't get a response from the reviewer about next steps. Also, when I press "save" or "preview" in the editing page and in the sandbox, only the opening sentence appears, not the rest of the article. It appears that the entire article is not showing up, but I don't know why.

The draft was declined because it didn't yet have any content when the reviewer looked at it. That has been fixed, and it's now re-submitted for a more substantial review. Judging by the timing of your contributions, you also by now the "only the opening sentence" problem.

There are some issues with the references you might want to resolve before a reviewer takes a look. For biographies of living persons our rules about citations are especially strict, and you should clarify which of the references you give supports which of the article's statements. For example, which source says Davis "has advanced the understanding, prevalence and viability of community land trusts in the United States"? The easiest way to clarify that is via footnotes; see also WP:Referencing for beginners.

It also wouldn't help to be a little more specific. One of the references is Stephen Rees' blog, which probably isn't a reliable source anyway because there's no editorial oversight, but which blog posts are relevant to Davis? When were they published? Can you provide direct links to the relevant posts? Another reference, Yes They Can. And They Bloody Well Did, was written by Davis himself; it's a primary source. It also doesn't seem to tell us anything about Davis and should be removed for that reason alone. The link to EthicalMarkets.com is broken, the author's name is probably wrong (it should be Hazel Henderson, not Rachel), and I couldn't find the review on that website. "Temple Press titles" should also be a little more explicit, and if those are Davis' own titles, they are once again primary sources. Huon (talk) 18:30, 2 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Because there were no reliable sources. Furthermore your article gives so little context that it is hard to tell what it's about. It's a village, and I'd guess it's somewhere in India, but where? What's its population? Is the village really mentioned by name in the Ramayana, or what's that epic's relevance to the village? I'm not sure what you were trying to ask (as you'd merely pasted your entire article here instead of just linking to the proposed article page, asking a question and signing with ~~~~) but I did spot a few issues which you need to correct. At one short paragraph, your submission may be a bit short to be a complete encyclopaedia article, the <ref> tag needs to be closed with </ref> and not <ref/> (as the latter tag means something different) and the text needs to be copyedited to bring the quality of English language text up to a native level. I've fixed the <ref> tags but am not familiar enough with the subject or its claim to notability to tackle the rest.
