Hello Galorian. The issue is that the copyright of the text on the Linked In page belongs to the author of that text, even if that author is you. Wikipedia cannot use copyrighted text unless the copyright holder explicitly agrees to freely license their text. How to do this is explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. However, often copyrighted text may not be suitable as part of an encyclopedia article even once it has been freely licensed. This is because the sort of material people post to Linked In is not normally the same sort of material ... or written the same way... as would be required for an encyclopedia. Hello Sam. If the picture is a photograph, the easiest way is for the photographer (the person who took the photograph) to upload it to Wikimedia Commons at https://commons.wikimedia.org/ This is only appropriate if the photographer wishes to freely license their photo. Tripleshine, your question is very unclear. What are you asking us? Are you wanting to write about Annandale, Virginia, or Annandale in England? I own a copy of the lp record from the 1950's and took the time to create info in Wikipedia from all of the info on the album cover. Now this was rejected. What's the point? How can I change?

@Bobo22home: Your article was declined because it did not have any references. However, because the article described a hit LP by a very notable singer, it was not hard for me to do a Google Books search with the term "Patti Page" "On Camera" and find several references to archive copies of Billboard that easily proved the article should exist on Wikipedia (though the LP serial number and year of release in one of the Billboard reports is different so I have changed that). We would like to provide a number of our information letters with links to Wikipedia article ROSTANY. However, there are certain deadlines for their dispatching, therefore we would like to know how much "over a month" can approval of our Wiki article take?

Wikipedia is not at all interested in helping bands/people/groups promote themselves. Wikipedia is for things that are famous, not to make them famous. So we have no interest in hurrying up to meet a subject's deadline. Also, I strongly suggest that you do not use a Wikipedia article as part of your "marketing campaign". You have no control over a Wikipedia article, so if someone adds something negative about the band that is documentably true in news media, the band itself has no power to remove that. Why not just provide a link to the band's own homepage on your letters? No reason you have to link a Wikipedia article. MatthewVanitas (talk) 00:16, 29 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Reviewer has one request before acceptance:

Under the heading 'Collections' I have included a list of institutions holding works by the subject (photographer). The list and its heading I have taken from her bio posted at the gallery which mainly represents her. The reviewer would like this list documented, so my question is: should I attach a single reference (the gallery) to the heading, or does each entry in the list need a reference?

Hi Steve. The way you've done it is OK, but we avoid having references in section headings. I've altered the layout by adding an introductory clause to that section, with the reference after it. I do not want to accept it until it at least specifies what work(s) is in each collection. The source is a CV that does not indicate this, and the article states some connections that the source does not document. But actually I do think it better to document each item, or at least one or two key ones that can be easily documented. I've seen CVs that use ambiguous terminology about whether something is actually in a collection, and this is much easier to properly document for many collections than it used to be.
