02:44:37, 20 July 2018 review of draft by Ericthefloridian[edit]

HOw do I know if my page was submitted. How do I know if my page was saved.

Ericthefloridian (talk) 02:50, 20 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ericthefloridian. By clicking on the red link for Draft:Ali Johnston, you can see that it was speedily deleted earlier today for being unambiguous advertising or promotion. For a draft to be deleted that way it usually has to be both egregiously promotional and there needs to be no hope that any amount of editing could produce an acceptable draft on the subject. Try a different subject. We have 5.5 million existing ones to choose from, almost all of which could be improved. --Worldbruce (talk) 06:49, 20 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

12:21:08, 20 July 2018 review of submission by Phil dornhegge[edit]

Hey there, my Draft was rejected because it apparently appears to "read more like an advertisement" than an entry in an encyclopedia. I would like to understand how you come to this conclusion. The Draft is more or less a literal translation of the German Wikipedia entry and contains multiple references to external sources. The original has been explicitly checked concerning of tonality because I'm well aware that Wikipedia is not supposed to be a marketing tool for companies. It's simply my desire to have the company with its growing international presence properly represented. Everything in this Draft is based on facts without distorting or exaggerating anything. My understanding of a neutral text may be less conservative than yours, however, so I'd really appreciate if you could point me to a specific quote where I can then try and comprehend what your position is based on. I'll happily make the necessary changes, but for now I'm not sure what to do. Thanks a lot for your help! Phil dornhegge (talk) 12:21, 20 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Phil dornhegge,
A couple of things come to mind when reading it. Everything down to and including "products and services" all seems reasonable enough. The paragraphs past there start creeping towards a relentlessly positive attitude towards the company. Statements like " Ever since, Brillux has been able "to improve the compatibility of family with career demands through this flexible, needs-based care concept for children aged 0 to 6 " which is being cited from the company providing the service doesn't encourage trust in an accurate report. Bits like "The most integral part of the campaign, however, is the marketplace for apprenticeships on www.dzib.de. Here, operations that offer apprenticeships can register. ", come across as marketing - in effect using the paragraph to help recruitment. Regarding the award "one of the most renowned awards in the industry." - says who?
Another aspect is that all the content is positive. It is generally unlikely that the company has avoided any difficulties, controversies etc, and adding that is a generally positive. You can be non-neutral or advertising by failing to include relevant detail, even if everything present is factually accurate.
That said, it looks like an excellent basis for an article, so I hope my $0.02 above gives some starting thoughts. Nosebagbear (talk) 12:52, 20 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

My article draft, Draft:Creation Science Research Center (website), is pending for review. I just wanted to know what the bottom line on the AFC submission form that states "Warning: This submission is not timestamped and so will be permanently at the back of the queue. Please replace this template with {{AFC submission}}." means and how I am to replace it. Thank you! Sincerely, User:Apologeticalscience

Apologeticalscience I've fixed it and also removed a "borked" template from the Publications section. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 16:29, 20 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
