14:47:00, 2 August 2020 review of submission by Wiki-Nihaal[edit]

I had no references because people on iOS could only get it and a little bit of the information from a book 100 people who made history by DK. I trust that my content is correct and I have also researched with the help of Apple Siri. But I put citation needed near the word ‘Tuberculosis’ because I was not sure whether it was tuberculosis or bronchitis. I have edited the references. Yours sincerely, Wiki-Nihaal. Please check it again.

@Wiki-Nihaal: I have checked it. There is a comment from me upon it. Fiddle Faddle 09:34, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

03:07:44, 2 August 2020 review of submission by AlThawadiBHR[edit]

I think he is notable, he had 7.42 Million on YouTube and 286K on Twitch and he had a page in the Arabian Wikipedia. AlThawadiBHR (talk) 03:07, 2 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@AlThawadiBHR: Wikipedia has a very special meaning for the term "Notability", in this case a noteable person. Subscribers and channel views don't establish notability, but significant coverage (not yust passing mentions) in reliable independent sources does. 42. 05:10:10, 2 August 2020 review of submission by MoonThiefPew[edit]

Hello and good day. I would like to ask for rereview for my article. The reason my page was rejected was because it does not meet the notability for football player which is playing for local first-tier league. However, I do believe my subject has meet the general notability guideline [1]

Aside from the notability issue, I have researched more about the subject local football players as well. There are a lot of players who have not meet the football notability requirement but is able to have they page published. The examples are https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raffi_Nagoorgani , https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mohd_Syukur_Saidin , https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khairu_Azrin_Khazali , https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zamri_Pin_Ramli and many more. Thus it is quite argueable that my client wants his page posted, as this new page I am creating includes more reliable references. Looking forward for advises and consideration. Thank you so much. MoonThiefPew What your client wants is not relevant, as the presence of a Wikipedia article has nothing to do with whether the subject wants one or not. (there are good reasons to not want one). Wikipedia has no interest in enhancing search results for someone or in aiding their "online presence". Other similar articles existing is also not relevant, see other stuff exists. Each article is considered on its own merits. It could be that the other articles you cite are also inappropriate. Your draft has been rejected, not just declined, meaning that it will not be considered further. The sources you have offered do not have the significant coverage required. My suggestion would be that you return your client's money and show them this discussion and the comments by the reviewer on the draft itself. 331dot (talk) 11:44, 2 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
331dot Hello there. I sincerely thank you for the reply. Thanks to your explanation, I have understood this very well. I didnt receive any payment from my client yet, which is a good thing. I have informed him about this. I hope he understands too. Thank you so much, once again. Your reply and explanation is much appreciated. --MoonThiefPew (talk) 05:12, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

07:39:56, 2 August 2020 review of draft by Shadman24[edit]

shadmansakib (talk) 07:39, 2 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Shadman24: This draft is far, far away from being an aceptable article. Currently, it is more like a directory entry. You can find help in creating a new attempt at WP:YFA. Victor Schmidt mobil (talk) 11:34, 2 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

RE: ComplyAdvantage

https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Draft:ComplyAdvantage

Please could you let me know if there any improvements that should be made before resubmitting? Thank you

Contextual2020 (talk) 12:32, 2 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Contextual2020 You have added a lot of information, but the additions are just more of the same. The sources you have offered seem to be press releases or announcements of routine business transactions(like acquisitions, the receiving of an unremarkable industry award, or the raising of capital). These do not establish that this company meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable company(please review). What is required is independent reliable sources with significant coverage that have chosen on their own to write about this company(i.e. not simply republished a press release or routine announcement).
The fact that you have edited about no other subject besides this company leads me to conclude that you are an employee or other representative of the company; if so, you must review and formally comply with the conflict of interest and paid editing policies(the latter is a Terms of Use requirement if you have a paid relationship with this company). 331dot (talk) 14:50, 2 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Contextual2020 - Thank you, that is very helpful. —Preceding undated comment added 17:52, 2 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Finzeytoonjian (talk) 17:09, 2 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Why was my submission rejected?

@Finzeytoonjian: It was rejected because the subject does not appear to meet Wikipedia's inclusion standards for now. This submission lacks any form of verifyability. This is especially important since we talk about a 14-year-old. If you are Finley Zeytoonjian, Please be advised that a Wikipedia article might not nessesarely be desireable. further, you should read Wikipedia:Guidance for younger editors. 19:07:59, 2 August 2020 review of draft by Christinagirgis[edit]

Christinagirgis (talk) 19:07, 2 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - are you able to help me move this draft to published? I've tried and it says the name "Davo" is restricted

Draft:Davo

Christinagirgis You have submitted it for review, if it is accepted, the reviewer will move the draft and handle the naming. 331dot (talk) 19:11, 2 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Christinagirgis, I don't review Music drafts, but I can see it is not yet ready for acceptance. The references are not yet of a calibre to prove the gentleman's notability
For a living person we have a high standard of referencing. Every substantive fact you assert, especially one that is susceptible to potential challenge, requires a citation with a reference that is about them, and is independent of them, and is in WP:RS, and is significant coverage. Please also see WP:PRIMARY which details the limited permitted usage of primary sources and WP:SELFPUB which has clear limitations on self published sources. Providing sufficient references, ideally one per fact cited, that meet these tough criteria is likely to make this draft a clear acceptance (0.9 probability). Lack of them or an inability to find them is likely to mean that the person is not suitable for inclusion, certainly today. Fiddle Faddle 19:16, 2 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Would someone else please assist this editor? They seem unwilling to listen to me. Fiddle Faddle 19:39, 2 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
This is an "interesting" case. User:Christinagirgis - It seems that the title Davo has been create-protected for nine or ten years, for some reason that is probably no longer current. However, just moving a draft from draft space into article space should really only be done by experienced editors who know what will survive WP:AFD. I see that User:Timtrent has provided a very thorough and detailed assessment of the draft, much more detailed than you are likely to get from another reviewer. My advice is to leave the draft alone. I could advise you what steps you can take to ask for a review, but I won't, because that would be a waste of your time and of the time of other editors and administrators. I would ask to have the title Davo unprotected, but I can see that you might try to move the draft into it, and get it deleted, so I think I will sign off. Robert McClenon (talk) 21:41, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You are saying he's not notable enough except when I include tens of notable press links about him and his artistry you say to remove them. How can you tell if he's notable if you don't check his social media and press links? He's the son of Junior Marvin of the Wailers and has an album coming out with 3 of the hottest rappers in the world. I'm confused — Preceding unsigned comment added by Christinagirgis (talkcontribs) 22:03, 4 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A full analysis of the references is at Draft talk:Davo (musician) and in my AFC comment. There have been subtle changes since the permalink (stated at the foot of that thread item) was the current version, but the sense of the analysis still applies. Put plain, this draft will not survive as an article in this state. Davo inherits no notability form his father, nor the band his father played in Fiddle Faddle 22:16, 4 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Christinagirgis Notability is not inherited by association(either through family or who they work with). This person must meet the definition of notable musician. You haven't yet demonstrated that. You were given a detailed explanation as to why many of your sources were inappropriate. Wikipedia is only interested in what sources completely unconnected with the subject choose on their own to say about it with significant coverage. Interviews, brief mentions, and press releases do not establish notability. 331dot (talk) 22:18, 4 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

He has millions of Youtube views. if you read the entire thing and all you got was his father I'm not sure what to say. He has hundreds of thousands of spotify and soundcloud streams. He's signed a label thru Interscope Records. However you don't let me reference Youtube as a source or basically anything. When someone has over 40 pieces of press int he media they are notable. However everytime I include those press links you say don't include them and then say he doesn't have enough notability. i'm confused — Preceding unsigned comment added by Christinagirgis (talkcontribs) 22:45, 4 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Christinagirgis Please sign your talk page posts; I will provide instructions on your user talk page. All of the press you cite is inappropriate for establishing that he meets our definition of a notable musician, for various reasons that the reviewer of your draft went to a lot of effort to tell you(more than I've seen for almost any other editor). YouTube views do not establish notability, as they are easily gamed(is it one person watching it a million times?). It's not difficult for any person to put their own music on the internet for streaming, so the mere fact that someone makes their music available for streaming is not significant by itself. Please review the links that you have been given in this discussion, as well as Your First Article. Successfully writing a new article is the absolute hardest task to do on Wikipedia; if you spent some time first editing existing articles in areas that interest you, you might better understand what we are telling you. 331dot (talk) 22:50, 4 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
331dot, The editor promoted the draft to mainspace themselves (again). I have sent it for discussion to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Davo (musician). The reason I analysed the references is simple. The editor simply was not listening, so I presented what I could see in a form they could see. I have ben trying hard to educate the editor, something we are renowned for at AFC
They have removed some faux references and included others of the same calibre. I have chosen to let the community decide. Fiddle Faddle 07:21, 5 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
