I am wondering, how i will be able to change the name of my article once i submit it? I am currently trying to submit my sandbox as its own article, however i am wondering if i will be able to properly change the name? Brandon Nitro (talk) 01:19, 12 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Brandon Nitro I don't see anything in your editing history with a sandbox, but if an article is loaded with the incorrect title, it can always be moved later to rename it. TechnoTalk (talk) 20:21, 17 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello,

I'm just a beginner in Wikipedia and may be I don't do everythig perfectly. But my submission has been rejected on 12 December 2021 by JalenFolf with this reason: "This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia." and: "All reliable sources from this individual relate to Xalam and only reference this individual in passing". But this isn't the case. Because: 1.) I put the references that the musician Taffa Cissé was from 1991 to 2012 the percussionist of Jean-Luc Ponty band. 2.) As such Cissé is also the percussionist on 5 albums from Jean-Luc Ponty - as as Life Enigma (2001), Live at Semper Opera (2002) or The Atacama Experience (2007). I listed all these albums. 3.) I put the references that Cissé appears at the album "Undercover (of the night)" from The Rolling Stones as percussionist, what one even can easyly check on Wikipedia. Further he appears on two more albums from The Rolling Stones and I did list them too. 4.)I put the references that Cissé worked at Deutsche Theatre Berlin in Germany with german/french theatre director Matthias Langhoff. 5.) I put the references that Cissé worked at the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus with german/french theatre director Matthias Langhoff. 6.) I listed 17 albums where Cissé appears as percussionist with international musicians, bands and singers. - And none of these facts have to do with his band Xalam. But of course I also menntioned Xalam. As it's part of the musical life of this musician. Also, as it's difficult to find newspaper articles and other sources about the early career of Cissé, I put as references articles about Xalam, where Cissés CV is also mentioned. Taffa Cissé is (as one may also check at youtube) a percussionist who has a played with many musicians and bands, with a lot of stars. How can one say, that he isn't sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia? I ask you to please accept my subbmission. Thanks a lot John

JohnOskarIgnoring the overly descriptive language that needs cleanup for now... please provide WP:THREE sources, here or in the article comments, that show the subject is notable indepedent of the band. Slywriter (talk) 03:05, 12 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Slywriter ok, thanks for the hint with the descriptive language.

Here the references that show the interest of the percussionist Taffa Cissé. (With a corrosive, pure and rare technique, Taffa Cissé always impresses and seduces his audience with his explosiveness. It must be said that he has become a "master drummer", that is to say, someone who has successfully passed through all the stages of training of the percussionist.English: After having undergone a solid training in the handling of percussion from a young age, the young Taffa studied music at the Dakar Conservatory (the National Institute of Arts of Senegal I.N.A.S) before moving on to the Mudra Africa School created by Maurice Béjart and directed by Germaine Acogny as a musician and composer. Well trained and passionate about his art, he integrated the renowned Ballet National la Linguère. Very quickly, he became one of the greatest soloists in Senegal.) 2.) http://www.timeisonourside.com/SOUndercover.html and http://www.timeisonourside.com/whydontAD.html#MOUSTAPHA as many other links to the Rolling Stones Albums 1983 - Undercover (of the night), 1983 – The Complete Story Of Rolling Stones 18, 2018 - The Rolling Stones - Studio Albums Vinyl Collection 1971-2016 prove that Taffa (Moustapha) Cissé is playing at heese albums (and not the band Xalam!). 3.) https://www.bmeia.gv.at/oeb-dakar/aktuelles/veranstaltungen/detail/article/23-ausgabe-des-internationalen-jazzfestivals-in-saint-louis/ this is the Austrian Embassy site and it tells in German:"Martin Reiter, ehemals gefeierter Newcomer der österreichischen Jazzszene und mittlerweile Professor für Jazzklavier am Konservatorium Wien, präsentiert sein allerneuestes Trio-Projekt. On the double album "Acoustic & Electric Trio", released in 2014, he recorded the work with his acoustic piano trio and electric trio using keyboard and Hammond organ. With his third visit to Senegal, a long-awaited wish comes true, namely the collaboration with a great Senegalese artist: Taffa Cissé, known in Europe as Jean-Luc Ponty's percussionist, will take over the rhythmic part in the Martin Reiter Trio.) This speaks about how much Cissé is known in Europe as a percussionist from Jean-Luc Ponty. 4.) see also: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Atacama_Experience, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tchokola, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jean-Luc_Ponty_in_Concert 5.)JazzEcho https://www.jazzecho.de/jean-luc-ponty/news-und-rezensionen/jean-luc-ponty-the-atacama-experience-69563 speaks about Jean-Luc Pontys Atacama Experience and Cissé: "Die restlichen Stücke spielte der Franzose, der am 29. September seinen 65. (The Frenchman, who celebrates his 65th birthday on September 29, recorded the remaining tracks with his permanent band, which has been playing together in this line-up for eight years now. The keyboards are played by William Lecomte, a native of Poitiers/France, who was the last member to join the current band in 1999. Bassist Guy Nsangué Akwa, a native of Douala, Cameroon, who has also worked with African stars such as Papa Wemba, Mory Kanté, Oumou Sangaré and the Caribbean zouk band Kassav, has played in Ponty's band since 1991. Drummer Thierry Arpino was born near Paris and accompanied Manu Dibango before joining Ponty's band in 1997. The last member is Senegalese percussionist Moustapha "Taffa" Cissé, who was involved in the recording of Ponty's 1991 album "Tchokola" and has been a faithful companion of the violinist since 1993.) 6.) https://www.geneveactive.ch/article/matthias-langhoff-philippe-macasdar-et-michel-deutsch-arretes-par-la-police-grecque/ states that Cissé works as percussionist with the in europe well known theatre director Matthias Langhoff at Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus in Grèce: "La part importante prise par les danses, mais aussi par la musique des percussions africaines du sénégalais Moustapha Cissé, plaça en partie ces Bacchantes sous le signe du continent noir. Dans le texte d’Euripide, l’étranger Dionysos arrive des lointaines terres d’Asie, mais il a parcouru le monde et s’est imprégné de toutes les cultures, aussi l’Asie n’est-elle qu’un « lieu imaginaire où Dionysos a instauré son culte."(The important part taken by the dances, but also by the music of the African percussions of the Senegalese Moustapha Cissé, placed partly these Bacchantes under the sign of the black continent. In the text of Euripides, the foreigner Dionysus arrives from the distant lands of Asia, but he has traveled the world and has been impregnated with all cultures, so Asia is only an "imaginary place where Dionysus has established his cult.) 7.) https://www.freitag.de/autoren/der-freitag/aus-dem-geist-des-mythos the german magazine Der Freitag speaks about the theatre production in Berlin at Deutsche Theater (director Matthias Langhoff) and states: "...beginnt der Chor der Frauen sich zu formieren unter dem suggestiv-unwiderstehlichen Rhythmus afrikanischer Trommeln (Mustapha Cissé) und ihrem eigenen afrikanischen Gesang..." (...the choir of women begins to form under the suggestive irresistible rhythm of African drums (Mustapha Cissé) and their own African singing...) 8.) https://jeanphilipperykiel.com/rencontres/adiouma-diabate/ The musician Jean Philippe Rykiel tells here about Taffa Cissés collaboration with coreographe Irène Tassémbedo. 9.) Taffa Cissé is a worldwide known percussionist, who played with The Rolling Stones and Jean-Luc Ponty, but also with important theatre and dance compagnies, with a lot of stars and newcomers. There is not much documented in the internet about him, but this doesn't change the fact, that he is notable and an artist of interest.

JohnOskar, Way too much information here. I'm off to bed but if you expect someone to review, please be concise in showing three sources. Walls of text are far less likely to get attention. Slywriter (talk) 06:11, 12 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

15:26:37, 12 December 2021 review of draft by I am Being Here to Help You

This is my first time using Wikipedia (Redacted). I cannot understand exactly what is wrong. So, I am contacting you.

I am Being Here to Help You (talk) 15:26, 12 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

So, what would make this an acceptable Wikipedia page?

I am Being Here to Help You, first, you want to check if the subject should have a Wikipedia page (what we call "notable"). The typical way to do that is to find 2-3 independent (not written by the subject of the article or anyone related to them), reliable (something like a newspaper, not like a random blog) sources that have significant coverage (so not just a sentence or two about the topic).
If you've found those sources, you want to write the article in a neutral way, with references in the text showing where you got that information. The article you submitted reads like an advertisement ("the wonders of science", "the next level of learning"). Rusalkii (talk) 18:03, 12 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
