Very good idea to work on a helicopter.

To start up I think something has to be done on historical side. Present development paragraph should be improved with more data picked all around wiki describing AAFSS and AAH U.S. Army requests for proposals. I saw the whole story is spread in wiki like a puzzle where tiles are left in several separate helicopters running the contests and being defeated by Cobra at first and Apache then. As I am not a native speaker I posted in my sandbox ->here<- a first draft for history improvement which I could more enhance. Feel free to modify it directly in the sandbox or drop it in mainspace when reviewers will consider it enough stable. In the same time, if my draft contribution proposal would be considered too long for the article, let me know so I will modify the style or highlight some specific parts and not others. Anyway, I guess a little effort to better describe Army doctrine than "The Army wanted an aircraft better than the AH-1 Cobra in firepower, performance and range." should be done--EH101 (talk) 00:37, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
