Cards sign Matt Clement
by   HPJoker, jj137 and Ohnpandya

It's a miracle. Two signings on the same day, with one Red Sox related!

Just heard on ESPNEWS that starting pitcher Matt Clement has been signed to a one year 1.5 million dollar deal by the St. Louis Cardinals. Clement was out almost all of last year due to an injury and was a waste of 9 million dollars. I wish good luck to him.

By the way if you're wonder what the other signing is check out my user page by the title.

Hall of Fame

Although he did not play for the Red Sox, Goose Gossage made the Hall of Fame this past week. He received 86% of the total votes.

Red Sox sign Mirabelli

On January 11, the Red Sox resigned catcher Doug Mirabelli to a one year deal[1].

Buddy LeRoux dies at 87

Former Red Sox owner Buddy LeRoux, died at the age of 87, in Tuftonboro, NH, on Monday January 11. He was a Red Sox owner from 1966 to 1974, was vice president from 1978 to 1979 and became the owner until 1986.[2]

There still have been no signings by any team on Santana. The Red Sox, Yankees, and the Mets are all hoping to sign the strong left handed prospect. Although in Minneapolis's newspaper The Star Tribune said that the Mets "might be the best fit", they are in no better position than either the Red Sox or the Yankees.[3]
