Description
[edit]Beyoncé Knowles is one of the greatest, if not the greatest, female R&B singer ever. She has an extensive musical, acting and enterprising career, with a substantial number of Wikipedia articles written about her. There are several users that are dedicated to writing high-quality articles about her, and I think a WikiProject would be a great place for central discussion, organisation and guidance. - Tbh®tchTalk © Happy Holidays — Obvious support, I don't know why she had not a wikiproject. Tbh®tchTalk © Happy Holidays 20:03, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Candyo32 20:36, 10 December 2010 (UTC) With all respect to Lady Gaga, Beyonce's project should have been done! Obvious support :)[reply]
- ΣПDiПG–STΛЯT 01:35, 11 December 2010 (UTC) — Strong support, as Tbhitch said, I don't know why she hasn't even had one yet.[reply]
- Ozurbanmusic (talk) 02:34, 11 December 2010 (UTC) — I strongly support this. ozurbanmusic (talk) 02:34, 11 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Jivesh boodhun (talk) 05:32, 11 December 2010 (UTC) If you closely analyse the history of Grammy awards and consider the last two decades only, Beyonce is the biggest winner and she has the greatest number of nominations. However, if you consider the entire, Grammy history, she is third overall. She has only three albums and yet she is so famous.[reply]
- — Legolas (talk2me) 07:01, 11 December 2010 (UTC) — It's time to snatch some wigs![reply]
- Novice7 | Talk 07:23, 11 December 2010 (UTC) — Beyonce is one of the successful female singers in America. A WikiProject would be great to discuss details and expand her articles.[reply]

- RatiziAngeloucontribs 21:23, 11 December 2010 (UTC) Would join for sure.[reply]
- --CallMeNathan • Talk2Me 02:12, 12 December 2010 (UTC) While I wouldn't call Beyonce the best of anything, she certainly is a talented and successful entertainer. While I'm busy with MC, and probably won't have much time for B, I'll gladly support and be there whenever needed.[reply]
- Theuhohreo (talk) 06:12, 12 December 2010 (UTC) Much love for the Queen Bey! I made A LOT of her articles (List of Songs, Tours, Heat (fragrance), Videography) for this woman so I'm behind anything that will give this woman the recognition she deserves :D[reply]
- Yves (talk) 06:19, 12 December 2010 (UTC) I see only one person has followed the instructions. Probably not; could change.[reply]
- Thank you for the support. With thirteen supports in less than 48 hours, I have gone and created a project at Wikipedia:WikiProject Beyoncé Knowles. Adabow (talk · contribs) 21:29, 12 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Orane (talk) 23:35, 12 December 2010 (UTC). Having written the intro, I support the initiative and would love top help out :).[reply]

Discussion
[edit]Have you joined WP:WikiProject R&B and Soul Music or WP:WikiProject Musicians? Why do you want a completely separate project, rather than working with them? WhatamIdoing (talk) 00:15, 11 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- WP:MUSICIANS covers musician biographies; this project would do much more than Knowles' biography. WP:R&B also has a huge scope, and discussions and initiatives would get lost among others' posts, and get in the way of information relating to R&B/Soul Music as a whole. Of course, this would be a child of WP:R&B. Adabow (talk · contribs) 01:33, 11 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- And after less than twelve hours there are eight supports, so there seems to be a wide base of editors willing to help. Adabow (talk · contribs) 08:43, 11 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- As I've just written re Mariah Carey, single artist music projects invariably fail to achieve 'critical' editorial 'mass' and go {{semi-active}}, {{inactive}} or {{historical}} after a year or two. The consensus at the Music Project is that it's much better to work within genre projects (R&B and Soul in this case?) where development of articles is likely to be ongoing. --Kleinzach 04:57, 16 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
