Why do you want to start a new group, instead of joining one of these existing groups?
Because elevators should have their own project like many other forms of transport (e.g. buses and trains) do.

Discussion[edit]

Since a WikiProject for Elevators is probably a bit too specific, maybe you could consider expanding the scope of the Project to Vertical Transportation, which includes elevators, escalators, cable cars, and covers all other modes of vertical transportation. User:Hkbusfan, WikiProjects (the groups themselves) are usually not successful when a lone editor wants to create one. Have you considered alternatives such as a task force, joining an existing group with a related scope, working informally or the other recommendations at Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Guide#Before you begin?
