Appearance
- Jason Kidd was selected by the Mavs with the second overall pick in the 1994 Draft. He shared the Rookie of the Year honours with Grant Hill. Soon after, Kidd was traded to the Phoenix Suns along with Tony Dumas and Loren Meyer, in exchange for Michael Finley, A.C. Green, and Sam Cassell. With the Suns, Kidd made it to the playoffs five of five times. In 2001, Kidd was traded to the New Jersey Nets for fellow point guard Stephon Marbury. With the Nets, he made to the NBA Finals 2 times (losing both times) and once finished 2nd in voting for NBA MVP (1st went to the Spurs' Tim Duncan). In 2004, the Nets aquired Vince Carter which set up a triangle of Kidd, Carter, and Richard Jefferson that allowed them to get to the playoffs twice more, before Kidd was traded back to the Mavericks.
