Wikipedia:WikiProject Fraternities and Sororities/Intro

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

WikiProject Fraternities and Sororities is a WikiProject dedicated to improving articles related to fraternities and sororities, in addition to associated umbrella organizations. Discussion about the project should be held on the talk page.

The Watchlist... is intended to list all notable groups.

How you can help

  1. Join the Project by adding your account name here.
  2. Write articles! Review the Watchlist for missing articles - a Red link shows you where a group's article is missing, either because it has not yet been written or it had been written, poorly, and was deleted.
  3. If you notice a notable missing group, add it! Follow these naming rules, and where a name is ambiguous, offer a unique name.
  4. Improve existing articles: edit for clarity and neutral language, remove promotional or "Peacock" wording, and add secondary reference citations.
  5. If you find a free, online source for collegiate yearbooks to help our research, add it here: List of US collegiate yearbooks.
  6. Respond to Article Alerts, listed below.
  7. Update North American fraternity or sorority chapter lists with the reference, Almanac of Fraternities and Sororities. You can provide corrections or updates to the Almanac here: Fraternity-Sorority Almanac Submission and Correction form
  8. Add "Fair Use" scans of missing crests and badges to articles.
  9. Always, follow these rules to ensure notability.
  10. Follow Recent Changes... to Project articles to look for vandalism, or to learn what other editors are doing.
  11. Finally, if you see good work being done, offer a Barnstar, or another award. Recommend a page as a Good Article, or suggest it for other types of recognition.
