M-28 (Michigan highway)[edit]

I hoping to gain some feedback on this article, preparing it for a full GA review. --Imzadi1979 (talk) 07:40, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Comments by Davemeistermoab (talk) I'm being more harsh than I would usually be. This is because you've made it known you are going for GA status, so I'm pretending I'm a GA reviewer.

  • Lead:You need to create at least a stub article for Lake Superior Circle Tour, or spend a paragraph to explain what this is. This phrase is used at least 3 times in the article, with no explanation as to what it means. As I've never been to Michigan, this is leaving a big question mark as I read the article. After reading the article, I still don't know.
  • Route description: the first instance of Marquette should be wikilinked. As currently written, it is the 3rd or 4th instance that is wikilinked. "Heavily forested" and "spectacular view" could be considered a Peacock terms. I think its ok for now, but you might need to fix or source this before you go for GA or FA reviews.
  • Western Terminus:Consider changing "memorial highway designations" to just highway designations. This had me confused at first. This was quickly resolved by continuing to the next sentence, so it may be ok. I would advise a second opinion, at least.
  • Seney Stretch: This sentence needs some help "M-28 has one "infamous" section along its route. While some highways have gained notoriety for traffic or accidents, M-28's Seney Stretch has gained it for sheer boredom." Without a source, this won't pass muster in a GA review. same for the claim of "laser-straight" below. Wikilink first instances of passing lanes and Rest Area.
  • Historic bridges: You need to cite the word historic in the lead sentence of this paragraph. For example "Several bridges along this route are listed on the National Register of Historic Places, with a source of course. I see a sentence stating this near the end of this section, but this needs to be in the front or the word Historic could be challenged in a review. Wikilink steel arch bridge. An excellent site for sourcing bridge length is : http://nationalbridges.com/. I just added sources using this site to Interstate 70 in Utah if you'd like to see an example. The last paragraph appears weak on sources.
  • History: "In 1941, M-28 and M-94 were flipped between Harvey and Munising." could use a source. Wisconsin line -> Wisconsin state line. Just in case someone is thinking railroad line, etc.

Past the history section it looks great to me. Davemeistermoab (talk) 07:00, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
