List of Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross recipients (W)[edit]
- Nominator(s): MisterBee1966 (talk)
I am nominating this article for A-Class review because it should be at the same level as the other A-Class lists. Please review and provide feedback. MisterBee1966 (talk) 11:22, 19 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

- Was Wagener commander of Sturm-Division Rhodos or of the island's garrison?
- good question, the sources just state Division Rhodos. However your question helped point out that Otto Wagener is the man in question. MisterBee1966 (talk) 06:28, 21 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Lemme check on the late war history of the division; it might have been absorbed into a unit in the Balkans rather than abandoned on Rhodes.
- Looks like the island. The division was disbanded in Oct '44 in the Balkans and its sole commander appears to be Kleeman.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 17:52, 21 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Why no cite for the presentation date for von Waldenburg, Heinz Weiss, Kurt Wiegand?
- Fixed, Thanks MisterBee1966 (talk) 06:28, 21 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Should probably note that Wick was KIA.
- Hm, about 1/3 of all KC recipients were killed in action. I listed this info only when the award was a posthumous presentation. MisterBee1966 (talk) 06:28, 21 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Fair enough.
- Add the missing slash in the unit title for Erich Wiese--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 03:35, 21 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- double checked there is no slash. MisterBee1966 (talk) 06:28, 21 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- There should be; somebody made a typo. All of the Luftwaffe Staffel designations that I've ever seen have a slash if they belong to a Gruppe or Geschwader or directly to the Ob.d.L. Just like Heer companies and battalions and regiments.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 07:31, 21 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- okay, I checked Von Seemen, he lists him with the "slash" MisterBee1966 (talk) 17:24, 21 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Always nice to be vindicated! ;-) Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 06:59, 24 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

- A couple dates of award in the table are uncited but have no explanatory note in the name column. Josef Wagner and Günther-Eberhardt Wisliceny.
- good spot! added MisterBee1966 (talk) 13:54, 24 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- That is all I have. I have previously reviewed five of these lists that have subsequently been assessed as A-Class, and this is of the same high standard. Well done, once again. Regards, Peacemaker67 (send... over) 13:22, 24 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
