Comments: I would suggest you gather some interest from WikiProject The X-Files and television members, by leaving notices at the project's talk pages, and leaving review requests to members to get this over one-month nomination going. In any case, here's what I found:

Where's the production code referenced?
Where's the running time referenced?
"science fiction television series" add "American" to the start
To prevent WP:OVERLINK and such, I would suggest linking "science fiction" in this case to "science fiction on television"
Unlink television series per WP:OVERLINK
"premiered" should be "originally aired"
Only "Fox" should be linked, without "network"
"April 18, 1999 in the United States" remove United States note, as per the above
"was written by Chris Carter from a story by John Shiban and Frank Spotnitz, and was" that last "was" is repetitive, remove please, as it is already at the opening of the sentence explaining
""Monster-of-the-Week"" only link Monster-of-the-Week without the quotation marks ""
Suggest noting a bit more about "Monster-of-the-Week", such as "a stand-alone plot which is unconnected to the overarching mythology of The X-Files"
Link "Nielsen household rating" to "Nielsen rating" per WP:UNDERLINK
"in its" grammar fail, replace with "upon" instead
"enjoyed" not encyclopaedia like, replace with different word
Per WP:TVPLOT, I think you could remove some unneeded details in plot section if possible
Linking problems with "Los Angeles" and "Fox", check full article please
Add alt text to images per MOS:IMAGES
"The X-Files Wiki" italics for The X-Files please
