Hi! Wouldn't it be fine to have a California State Route 1 map? It would be great if someone find some time to draw that one... --85.178.30.0 21:07, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

    • Actually, it looks like it'll be nearly impossible to draw this map from hand due to all of the water bodies present. Unless someone can point me in the direction of some free GIS manipulation software, I won't be able to make this map. --TMF T - C 04:40, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Hi. Can someone help me to draw a map of Interstate 87 in New York(with shields). Thank you. -- User:KMB-ATE1 26th september, 2006

The current map there is essentially what this user is looking for, isn't it? Someone just needs to slap some shields on it? Stratosphere (U T) 17:46, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
I think the current status, without shields, is better. --NE2 19:15, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

A map of NY 208 would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. --TMF T - C 02:45, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

Need a proof-of-concept for a California State Route 78

Hi... I was wondering if I could obtain a map of California State Route 78 for a prototype infobox? Since I'm proposing map support for CA... Thanks, Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 01:51, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

I think this illustrates my point about detail possibly being bad: when SR 15 becomes I-15, this map will be out-of-date. I'm not sure if this is a big deal though.

By the way, what do you mean about "map support"? If you use template:infobox road, you'll be able to include a map - and anything else that other states use - by default. --NE2 07:44, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

This isn't a big deal - when/if it gets upgraded, then we'll update the map (if enough people are concerned about it. I wouldn't be, personally).) --TMF Let's Go Mets - Stats 09:43, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
They're having a discussion at the CASH about whether to stick with their current CA specific infobox or switch/integrate to Infobox road...that's why he's talking about map support. Also, I'm not sure what you mean by "detail possibly being bad." Perhaps posting a note on my talk page since this is a request section. Cheers. Stratosphere (U T) 14:48, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
nm, I see what you are talking about now. Stratosphere (U T) 22:03, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

Much thanks... at this point it'll be a few years before CA-15 becomes I-15. --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 01:40, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

A map for I-410 (loop around San Antonio) would be great. Thanks. --Holderca1 16:20, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

State Highway 151 is actually a limited access freeway for its entire length and should be blue for the entire length in that map. It was completed in 2004 so you may just have old data. --Holderca1 16:37, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
If 151 is a state route, not an Interstate, then it should be orange per WP:USRD/MTF. That aside, what is the status of this request? Is the current map sufficient? Stratosphere (U T) 22:12, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
But it is limited access and per MTF: Limited Access Highways: #77AAFF, I would like to have the shields on there as well. --Holderca1 22:38, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
Blue is for Interstates, that is universal, not just per MTF. Just because a SH is Limited Access doesn't mean it should be blue, otherwise the vast majority of some U.S. Routes and State Routes would be Blue, such as US 127 and M-8 in Michigan. As far as the shields for both maps, shoot 25or6to4 a message on his talk if you haven't already, they are still around, hopefully they'll get your message. Otherwise if it goes a day unanswered I can slap shields on them. Cheers. Stratosphere (U T) 23:15, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
I am just going off what it says on that page WP:USRD/MTF#Colors, if that is the case, it needs to be changed. --Holderca1 04:04, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
I was also under the impression that all limited access roads should be blue; at least, that's what I had in mind when I drew up my proposal a while ago. --TMF Let's Go Mets - Stats 04:12, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
Just looked up a map on randmcnally.com and they have all limited access highways as blue, not just interstates. --Holderca1 04:24, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
Ah, my apologies. I have a Rand McNally on my desk and that is, indeed, the case. I know, sometimes, the GIS data doesn't differentiate between limited access USRs and SRs so there isn't a straighforward way to color them as such without manually editing the polyline data. It's definitely something I'll watch out for though. Cheers! Stratosphere (U T) 05:04, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

We need an updated map. The old map was drawn when we had far less data than we do now. I also have a reference in the reference list which shows a map from some slides from a Professor at University of Alabama that you can compare your map with. Thanks.--Filll 02:34, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

This is the request page for the Maps task force of the U.S. Roads WikiProject. I think you may be looking for Wikipedia:WikiProject Maps; they should be able to help you with more general-purpose mapping requests. Powers T 16:50, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
