@420Traveler: With this edit, it appears that the mapframe linework is being referenced from perhaps Wikidata. I did update Wikipedia:Map data/Wikipedia KML/Illinois Route 8 but the map displayed is still disjointed. Was there anywhere else you've uploaded a JSON file for this route? —Mr. Matté (Talk/Contrib) 13:35, 17 December 2019 (UTC)

@Mr. Matté: I dont think I uploaded a JSON file anywhere else, so im not totally sure why the map is still doing this. Is there a way to double check if I accidentally did? 420Traveler (talk) 18:01, 17 December 2019 (UTC)
JSON files can include text formatted like what's in Wikipedia:Map data/Wikipedia KML/Illinois Route 8. That file I did redo in a format I've used frequently but the mapframe map did not update at all. —Mr. Matté (Talk/Contrib) 18:23, 17 December 2019 (UTC)
It had to do with the Wikidata side of things. I don't fully understand how it works, but I removed the reference to the KML on IL 8's WD page and called the JSON map data and it draws correctly now. –Fredddie 22:33, 18 December 2019 (UTC)

Doing... KML is added and the OSM relation is set up on Wikidata, but the line won't draw on the map. –Fredddie 03:51, 19 December 2019 (UTC)
@Evad37: can you double check if I did it correctly? –Fredddie 03:56, 19 December 2019 (UTC)
@Fredddie: The relation on OSM needs a Wikidata tag in order for the map to work. I've added it with [2], it may take up to ~48 hours before displaying on the article. - Evad37 [talk] 00:01, 20 December 2019 (UTC)
@Evad37: still nothing. –Fredddie 04:25, 24 December 2019 (UTC)
Looks like there's an issue with replicating data from OSM, per phab:T237228 and its subtask. I also got a notification for a similar issue at [3] - Evad37 [talk] 05:29, 24 December 2019 (UTC)
@Evad37 and Fredddie: There appears to be a similar issue with the map data at Texas State Highway 4. ToThAc (talk) 18:16, 24 December 2019 (UTC)
I've added the tags on OSM and on Wikidata... let's if it works in two days time. - Evad37 [talk] 00:49, 25 December 2019 (UTC)

@Fredddie: I am trying to find the source, all it says in the "List of reference routes in New York" is that it was "extended from Fuller Road when that intersection was rebuilt as an interchange". {{not done}} These articles typically don't get a map and KML for a couple reasons. Our methods typically trace current roads, so unless you know the exact path the road took, you're not going to get an accurate map. The other main reason is that maps should already exist. See Lincoln Highway for an example of what I mean. We're better off finding a map published before 1925 and digitizing it. –Fredddie 02:20, 15 April 2020 (UTC)

  • Comments: Hi. I need a map and a KML file for Michigan County Highway A-37 so it can be in a good article status. Thanks. Zjholder 14:41, 5 October 2020 (UTC)
{{not done}}. First off, a map is not required for Good Article. Second, I can export a KML from the main CDH map KML at any time, but since this roadway is unlikely to pass WP:GNG, it's not worth the effort just to request deletion of the KML in the future when the draft or article are deleted. Update: I have merged a few KML files that represent modern routes that follow the former highway, all that must be done is to clean up the clutter from the other routes. Template:Attached KML/User:PaulWebbtheTechExpert. Sorry for the cluttered text, I have never done this before and I am short on time. Paul Webb (PaulWebbtheTechExpert) (talk) 14:48, 26 October 2020 (UTC)
This is actually not that helpful. It includes all of the western half of US 2, unless that's what you meant by "clutter". As a reminder, there is WP:NODEADLINE, so we will get to it when we get to it. –Fredddie 16:14, 26 October 2020 (UTC)
Ok thank you, I thought it would make the process quicker, I was mistaken. Paul Webb (PaulWebbtheTechExpert) (talk) 16:34, 26 October 2020 (UTC)

  • Comments: Hello! Please update the map by changing the section between US 158 (Reidsville Road) and US 421 (Salem Parkway) to red to reflect the opening of this segment on September 4, 2020. Also, please create a new KML file. Thank you! TextClick (talk) 20:20, 5 September 2020 (UTC)

{{done}} Map updated and KML added —Mr. Matté (Talk/Contrib) 17:46, 18 January 2021 (UTC)

While clicking on the map on the page shows it updated, the map on the page itself doesn't show any red at all - is there something that needs to be done to force it to properly display? - The Bushranger One ping only 23:25, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
@The Bushranger: there is a caching period between the time an interactive map is added and it appears correctly. It will appear correctly on preview though. I just looked, and the map appears correct now, so you might try again to see. Imzadi 1979  23:33, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
@Imzadi1979: I figured that, but rechecking it's still only showing blue and orange clearly supporting the University of Florida on the basic page, but hitting edit and then preview does show the correct map. Purging both through the "*" tab and shift+refresh doesn't change the base map, but maybe my routing is just being slow! I'll check again tomorrow and see if it's still being very silly and needs to stop it, thanks. - The Bushranger One ping only 23:37, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
@The Bushranger: this is a known issue per Evad37. It usually resolves within a couple hours. –Fredddie 23:56, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
Yep, this is phab:T269984. No point in trying to purge, null edit, or do anything else from your end – until this bug is resolved its just a matter of waiting - Evad37 [talk] 00:00, 19 January 2021 (UTC)

  • Comments: While this article already has a map, it does not show the route's east end on the Kentucky border. I will likely make a new KML file myself, however I am busy IRL at the moment so it might be a while until I can get it done. If someone could correct the current map on display it would be a good placeholder until I get a proper KML done. 96.5.44.230 (talk) 20:46, 14 January 2021 (UTC)
