We will investigate various expressions and phases of the orogenic cycle, starting with the most primitive and progressing to the most advanced. Each week is dedicated to a different place, which will require you to do the following: • Use the list below and chose a tectonic-related topic about the place • Find a recent summary paper about this topic. • Check the Wikipedia version of the tectonic development, and fill in any significant gaps. • Prepare an outline of the key claims of the paper and if and how the evidence supports those claims.
• Lead a 15-20 min. discussion on the paper.
