This course will be composed of four modules: writing, language, images, and library science. In the writing module students will learn the essentials of writing to compose a biography to effectively communicate science and technical jargon to a general audience. These skills can be used towards other areas of media and science communication. In the language module, students will learn skills related to communication, various styles of language and media types. Students can also explore methods and practice. In the images module, students will learn the different types of visuals used in both print and digital media. Students will engage with a variety of topics for exploration and contribution to the Creative Commons platform. IN the library science module, students will compose pages for authors and copy edit pages for inclusion of biographical information of authors and subject area experts. Focus of the course is cultural inclusion of women’s studies in the areas of library and museum science.
