Based on the financial management framework provided by previous courses (including, but not limited to, the advantages and disadvantages of public companies compared to other forms of business organizations, the definition, and structure of financial markets, the role of financial institutions and financial intermediaries, the main characteristics of bonds and stocks, the basic process of capital budgeting, etc.), this course will provide students with a more in-depth understanding of financial theories and promote students’ critical thinking of real-life financial decisions made by financial managers. Some examples are corporate governance, dividend policy, international finance, corporate control, risk management, or bankruptcies. Therefore, the course will be designed as a seminar with weekly article assignments and online discussion dialogues.
