This course surveys contemporary American queer literature and is designed for advanced undergraduate students in English and related fields. We are examining the literature in relation to broader cultural and political events and issues. We also survey queer studies and queer theory. Students have the option of creating a new entry or improving an existing entry on some aspect of queer American literature: an author, a genre or mini-genre, a publishing house, and other topics as approved by the instructor and the Wikipedia Expert Editors.
