Assignment - Learn the basics

  

  • Begin the training modules assigned for your course. During this training, you will make edits in a sandbox, learn the basic rules of Wikipedia, and learn about evaluating articles and sources for Wikipedia.

Assignment - Add a citation to an article

  

  • Using the Citation Hunt tool, find a claim in a Wikipedia article that has been marked as having a "citation needed" 
  • Find an appropriate source for the claim, taking into consideration what you learned in the Evaluating Articles and Sources module, and evaluation criteria we've discussed in class:
    • Authority (Authorship)
    • Ownership (Publisher)
    • Objectivity (Bias)
    • Currency
    • Accuracy 
    • Purpose  
  • Add a citation where it is needed; double check to make sure sure your footnote has been added
  • Be sure to remove the "citation needed" tag
