This seven and a half week course provides a basic understanding of concepts in the research process, enabling students to identify appropriate strategies for filling the information need. The course explores the broad array of information sources in various formats and disciplines, and emphasizes the organization, efficient retrieval, and critical evaluation of electronic and print information.

  • Add 1 source to the bibliography. Add this relevant, reliable source on the talk page of the Katharine Smith Reynolds page. Make sure to check in on the talk page (or watchlist) to see if anyone has advice on your bibliography.
  • Add 1–2 sentences of new information, backed up with a citation to an appropriate source, to Katharine's Draft Wikipedia page.

  • Contribute one paragraph to your assigned section of Katharine's draft page 
  • Reminders:
    • Be sure to write in encyclopedia style 
    • Cite your sources by following Wikipedia's guidelines for footnoting and adding sources to the References section
In class - Moving Articles to Mainspace
  • Together, we'll move Katharine's page out of draft mode and into Wikipedia's main space.
  • A general reminder: Don't panic if your contribution disappears, and don't try to force it back in. 
    • Check to see if there is an explanation of the edit on the article's talk page. If not, (politely) ask why it was removed.
    • Contact your instructor or Wikipedia Content Expert and let them know.
