Latest Club Updates[edit]

  • On Tuesday, we had our first big event - the Buckeye Edit-A-Thon! Thanks to everyone that came out. It was exciting to see students interested in Wikipedia, and being able to make positive contributions in just a few hours. Here are some stats from the event:
  • Total turnout: 15
  • Attendees who have never edited: 6
  • Articles edited: 19
  • Articles created: 2
  • Number of edits to articles: 67
  • As we are a new club, the future is flexible. Stay tuned for future events! Some possible ideas for future activities include:
  • Weekly or bi-weekly workshops for students to edit articles and ask questions.
  • Exploring campus and Columbus while taking photos to illustrate articles on Wikipedia.
  • Collaborating with the University Archives and libraries to obtain printed materials to use to research articles on Wikipedia, along with uploaded public domain material to the Wikimedia Commons.
  • Presentations on various aspects of Wikipedia (policies, history, interesting events, etc.).
