Better forms of crowd control

As an admim whose advice is generally considered unwelcome by most of the invited, I decline to actually edit the essay, but may I add the problem of IP edits under crowd control. In some cases, they are distinct, but the Kalamazoo Kid, among others, frequently approached the 75 edits per month on an article. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 23:53, 26 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I wish we could put admin burnout into a centrifuge that would tease out the extent to which IP edits are contributing to the problem. If, as I suspect, IP edits are major contributor, it might be time to ask if the wiki project has grown and matured to a point where thee costs of allowing such edits outweigh the benefits.NewsAndEventsGuy (talk) 14:11, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
