Happy 2008!

I wish you a very happy 2008! Enjoy and take care, comrades! Hope the new year will bring us all good fortune and make this world a better place! You guys are really doing a great job with celebrating peoples birthdays here! -The Bold Guy- (talk) 15:21, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, because it's such an important part of building an encyclopedia isn't it... Honestly, I thought this had been killed off months if not years ago.--kingboyk (talk) 19:13, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

April

I don't mean to nag, but still nothing has been done about April ... Jake the Editor Man (talk) 17:59, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

I finally got a chance to update April. Enjoy! Lisatwo (talk) 00:41, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

Wikipedia Ad

I have created a new ad for the birthday committee. Does anyone thinks that this committee needs an ad? Please post your answer below. -Macy's123 (talk) 17:57, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

§tepshep¡Talk to me! 00:34, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

It's brilliant. Since it's been a month and no one's replied, i'll put it on the page and see if anyone has a problem with it or not. wwesockssign 03:39, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

Sorry but it doesn't handle tables. I've tried fixing it but can't. wwesockssign 03:57, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

Revamp

Can I re-design and create a new logo for the birthday committee. If I can i'll show you some of my ideas wwesockssign —Preceding comment was added at 03:35, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

Of course you can. Seems like the committee is leaderless at the moment. Lisatwo (talk) 15:39, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

Calender Clean

Has anyone cleaned the BDC calenders and removed retired users, desysopped users, or blocked users ever or lately? Someone should check and make sure there are no unnecessary names on there. SwirlBoy39 22:15, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

I've been checking userpages of redlinked users when I'm moving names over to the new style pages, in case they left completely. I haven't looked for other retired users though. Lisatwo (talk) 15:43, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

Epitome of Junior Woodchucks?

Seriously, does it get anymore self-congratulatory than this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by James1906 (talkcontribs) 06:19, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Adding my birthday to the list for the message on the day

Hello

I added myself as a participant because I think the idea of this is great, but I am having a bit of trouble adding myself to some sort of list of the birthdays or was this done when you join the comittee? I added myself to List of Wikimedians by birthday is there anything more I should do? Thanks. Police,Mad,Jack (talk · contribs) 17:48, 18 April 2008 (UTC).

I have added your name here in the calendar for the month of May. Hope thats what you were asking for. --SMS Talk 17:58, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

It is, thank you. Appreciated. Police,Mad,Jack (talk · contribs) 19:33, 18 April 2008 (UTC).

May updated

I just created/cleaned all of the May birthday pages. If you are a May person, you might want to double check to see if you were pasted into the correct category. Hope you all like it, Lisatwo (talk) 15:45, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

A template...

Hi guys, I'm new here (to the committee, not the 'pedia) and I'm wondering... It looks like someone originally set it up so that there would be a template that you could place on your userpage and it would automatically show the little green box with the current date so you wouldn't have to come here every day and check the date to find out whose birthday/what holiday it is. However, I can't find such a template, does one actually exist? If not, would you like one? The template syntax itself would be a piece of cake to write, however the way the syntax is written on each individual page would need to be updated, there's some extraneous noinclude/includeonly tags that mess the pages up when transcluded. If I had to go through and change every one, it would take a very long time. If I provided a diff showing the necessary changes, would anyone be willing to help me? I think what you're looking for is {{Wikipedia:Birthday Committee/Calendar/Today}} which shows:

<noinclude> the category links

As it currently stands, any page that transcludes the calendar pages (such as Wikipedia:Birthday_Committee/Calendar/September/23, Wikipedia:Birthday_Committee/Calendar/December/25 etc.) is added to the category Category:Birthday Committee. This includes userpages that transclude the Wikipedia:Birthday Committee/Calendar/Today page. This isn't ideal, so would anyone object to a bot running through the calendar pages and putting the category inside <noinclude> tags? ~ User:Ameliorate! (with the !) (talk) 01:52, 23 September 2008 (UTC)

Nope, I've seen your bot work and it's seamless. I support the idea. §hep¡Talk to me! 00:39, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
