This course addresses Islamic jurisprudence from the theological and historical background of Islamic law, known as Shari’ah, including the Schools of Law, the concepts of ibadat/“mu’amalat and Ijtihad/ taqlid Muslim family law, and Islamic criminal law. Students will also study the relationship between Islamic and other systems of jurisprudence.
