Hello everyone! Thanks Kathryn and Courtney for being the first couple of brave souls to start commenting. I know this can be confusing and a little intimidating, but that's how we learn. Its completely ok to make mistakes here (it will not affect your grade so long as you are doing the work). I hope that you all are starting the student training located here. Also you can read about what 'Talk' pages are all about here, and how to properly use Talk pages here. Couple of basic things to keep in mind whenever you are commenting on Talk pages: 1. Always sign off at the end of your comment with your username simply by typing out 4 tildes (the thing that looks like ~); and 2. If you are replying to a specific comment in the thread, write your comment directly under it but with an indentation using a colon (look for example, my replies under Kathryn and Courtney's comments). Hi everyone, Just getting set up here. My name is Iling pronounced as E-ling not I-ling, I know it's weird, but that's how it is don't ask me why. I am in my fourth semester as an Interior Design major. First time taking a Sociology class. I am excited to meet you all tomorrow. see you in few hours. ciao! Hello All! Wow, I would have never thought that I'd actually post anything on Wikipedia but, here I am...never say never! While going through the training for students page on Wikipedia I realized the misconceptions I had about this site. My name is Raziye Camci and this is my first semester at FIT. I'm a two year AMC major but, will definitely continue on to get my bachelors. I registered later on the week for this Intro to Sociology course so I missed out on meeting all of you wonderful people, but hey we have the rest of the semester to get to know one another. I am thrilled that I get to finally be in a sociology class! I really like all the facilities and opportunities FIT offers us students. I am a commuter from the Bronx, so I know the city well enough to get around. BTW my name is Turkish for all of those that wondered. Well that's about it, see you all on Monday!

This is Gayon from 9:10 class, I don't know if leaving a comment here was the assignment but if it was.. done. Also I'm not a fan of this wikipedia thing, I feel like it's a wikipedia class. Can we have more class discussions on society like how this generation operates including taboos, how social media has made bandwagon the new trend, women and men roles in todays society ex? Thanks

Hey everyone! It's Jessie Johnston here! Since we have to leave a comment, here's a little about me. I am in my third semester, studying Advertising and Marketing Communications. I don't like my major too much because it bores me to death, but am trying to make the best of it. I live back on Long Island where I work two jobs. One job is at Journeys (A shoe store in the local mall), and the other is an assistant at a local hair salon. I came to FIT so that I can eventually work for a fashion magazine, and after this year, I will be going to cosmetology school, or at least that's my plan. I've always been interested in doing hair, so I figured why not do both. I like to think I am ambitious with getting to where I want to be. I blog time to time and when I am not working, I am sleeping. It's pretty much one of my favorite things to do. I enjoy Dunkin Donut's caramel iced coffee with cream and liquid sugar, so if you're ever at Dunkin before class, I expect an invite or at least bring me a coffee:) That's a pretty basic description of where I stand in my life right now. There's a lot more I could write, but what fun would it be if I gave it all away now? Not too fun. See ya later! Also, I am extremely confused on what is happening with wikipedia. I'm just kind of clicking buttons and it brought me here. And I think I started the student training, but I am not really sure if I did. Hopefully, I did though.

Thanks for your comment Jessie! Hamsindh (talk) 16:20, 6 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hey everyone, I guess we leave a little bit about ourselves here as our comments. Welcome (back)! This is my 3rd year at FIT but 2nd year in the Visual Presentation major. I came to FIT as a Fashion Merchandising major but found it unbearably boring, So I switched. I've always lived in new york but only visited the city before coming to school. Now I have an apartment with friends and no desire of going back to farm land. The one thing we do have where I'm form is the Woodbury Commons if anyone has heard of it. I like long walks on the beach and brunch. Haha I am just joking. But that is all about me for now. See you guys in two weeks. Kathryn

Thanks for your comment Kathryn! I've heard of Woodbury Commons (in CT right?). See you in class! Hamsindh (talk) 17:42, 27 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi this is really confusing and I don't know if I'm posting this in the right place, but hello! I'm Courtney Staib and this is my second semester here at FIT. I'm in the FMM program but I still have no idea what I want to do when I graduation, I think life will just take me where I'm supposed to go. I have a really unique perspective on the word so I'm excited to add to that through this class. Well, good luck in your classes and see you guys in a few weeks! -Courtney

Thanks for your comment Courtney! You've come to the right place. See you in class! Hamsindh (talk) 17:42, 27 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi all! I hope I'm in the right place.. My name is Montanna Mungal, and I'm a sophomore here at FIT. I'm originally from Toronto, but moved to NYC from the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area. I'm a half Scottish/half Trinidadian Virgo, and I'm a big family person. I love meeting new people and traveling to new places. I also love exploring deep into worldly topics and observing points from other people's perspectives, which is why I'm looking forward to this sociology course. Here's to a great semester!

Thanks for your comment Montanna! Hamsindh (talk) 15:38, 28 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Everybody! My name is John Zuluaga and this is my 3rd semester in the Fashion Merchandising Management major. I am very excited to be taking introduction to sociology and having intelligent class discussions with you all. Thank You! - John Zuluaga

Thanks for your comment John! Hamsindh (talk) 17:11, 28 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I think I've commented on the right page now!?!

It was a true pleasure to have met you all! (literally). I find that this class has a very large amount of people who are opinionated and intellectually motivated. This is my second year at FIT, and if I must say, thank goodness for a class that has other male students! For so long, I've been the only male in all of my classes!

A little background info about me... I'm originally from Mexico City, Mexico, but have been living in California for most of my life (go figure). I didn't speak English until I was about 3 or 4 years of age; hence my accent didn't help at the time. However, practice makes "perfect" and soon I was able to get rid of my accent and master three languages (English, Spanish, and Polish). I guess you can say that I'm very determined. I look forward to a great semester!
