We well create groups of two, each of which will prepare a Wikipedia article on a specific bacterial group or species. The article will be developed as a requirement for the portfolio. Mechanics of Wikipedia article development will be taught in class on September 24. Articles will meet basic standards for content and length consistent with existing Wikipedia material. Each article will be prepared for a group or species for which an article is not currently available through Wikipedia or Microbewiki. Articles will be “published,” and thus represent your contributions to disseminating knowledge.
Each member of the pairs will be responsible for specific elements of the pages that are created. Thus, individual contributions will be assessed for depth of topic coverage, graphics and other illustrative material used, and writing skills.
