Welcome! I encourage all students to familiarise themselves with WP:PLAINANDSIMPLE so as to avoid some disastrously low-quality contributions to medicine-related articles that we've seen with certain other programs (example: my remarks to a student's contributions: User_talk:Esarmah#Roussy–Lévy syndrome). Try your best! kashmiri 14:35, 18 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Citations

[edit]

Hello again,

As citations and their formatting often pose a serious problem for many Wikipedia editors, to make things simple I encourage using a special citation template cite doi. It is one of the simplest ways of citing medicine-related sources. Usage: place {{cite doi|XXXXXX}} between <ref>...</ref> tags, replacing XXXXXX with the source's DOI. After you save your edits, you can click "Expand by hand" in the created footnote so that the reference is populated.

For documents with no DOI (some older publications), you can make automatic citations using cite pmid template (usage: {{cite pmid|XXXXXXX}}, replacing XXXXXXX with PubMed ID).

Thanks! kashmiri 22:12, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
