Are we still doing books?

Hi, I'm in the process of creating a new nomination and noticed that the template no longer includes a book link. After a bit of digging around, I found this discussion that resulted in the change to the template. Based on that decision, are we still creating books for topics? Parsecboy (talk) 13:03, 29 June 2020 (UTC)

It doesn't appear that they're really still a thing. I was also confused as I proposed Silesian Wars, so I manually made Book:Silesian Wars, but I don't suppose anyone will ever go there. -Bryan Rutherford (talk) 15:13, 29 June 2020 (UTC)
I thought something seemed different lately. Its probably for the best books are done with then. GamerPro64 18:58, 29 June 2020 (UTC)
Aye. I think the experiment was ultimately a failure. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs talk 19:10, 29 June 2020 (UTC)

Looking for delegate for hire

I made a call for a new delegate for Featured Topics someone else a while ago but I think that there should be a second delegate to help out here. So if anyone is interested in becoming one, that would be great. GamerPro64 04:41, 24 August 2020 (UTC)

I'm potentially interested, but would entering that role make me ineligible to support or oppose nominations? I feel like we might be more in need of voters than of administrators here currently... -Bryan Rutherford (talk) 05:01, 24 August 2020 (UTC)
You can support or oppose nominations. I personally do not vote on nominations but as someone who starts removal reviews and then closing them I think its still fine to vote. GamerPro64 05:04, 24 August 2020 (UTC)

Once again calling for anyone interested in being a delegate for Featured Topics. GamerPro64 00:03, 18 September 2020 (UTC)

I'll throw my hat into the ring ;-) Especially since I'm partially responsible for most of the family-sized GTs and FTs, maybe helping out here could serve as my penance.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 00:38, 18 September 2020 (UTC)
Hi Sturmvogel 66, did this happen? Are you a delegate now? Gog the Mild (talk) 19:36, 24 October 2020 (UTC)

How long do these stay open?

There's a bunch of these that have been open a while (several over a month) that have garnered what appears to be pretty good consensus to promote, including a supplemental nomination from August which seems to have very strong consensus. How long do these usually remain open before closure? Hog Farm Bacon 14:38, 8 October 2020 (UTC)

I've been very busy lately, unfortunately. I know a lot of the topics are ready to be promoted but I don't have the time for them. As well one delegate has been inactive for months and I'm not sure about the other. More nominations will be processed soon enough. GamerPro64 14:53, 8 October 2020 (UTC)
Hi GamerPro64, I nominated Punic Wars and it has attracted 11 straight supports. Is this likely to be enough? If not I could put another neutral request for reviewers on MilHist. Or is it just a case of "running the clock down"? Cheers. Gog the Mild (talk) 15:34, 25 October 2020 (UTC)
Well in a perfect world we should have these nominations done after two or three weeks. So I guess I can close this one. GamerPro64 15:58, 25 October 2020 (UTC)
Cheers GamerPro64, appreciated.
BTW did you manage to recruit a second delegate? Gog the Mild (talk) 16:03, 25 October 2020 (UTC)
Yes Sturmvogel 66 is my other delegate. However, I am concerned by Spy-cicle and his lack of activity. Might be back to square one for delegates. GamerPro64 16:04, 25 October 2020 (UTC)
@GamerPro64: if you still need some assistance, I would be happy to help out as a delegate. If you recall, I organized the Monteverdi operas featured topic and have voted here in the past. Not sure how the selection process works for this, or if you need assistance, but let me know. Aza24 (talk) 10:30, 25 November 2020 (UTC)
(watching:) how is this for a training period: Aza evaluates, and GP checks it out and has the final say? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:41, 25 November 2020 (UTC)
I think having three people for Featured Topics would be a good idea. Yeah I can use one more. And I like Gerda's idea. GamerPro64 01:18, 26 November 2020 (UTC)

@GamerPro64: It seems that with the promotion of Yugoslav destroyer Ljubljana, the topic Ships of the Royal Yugoslav Navy became featured. Could you do the necessary steps? Regards, Armbrust The Homunculus 22:59, 30 November 2020 (UTC)

Gonna have to wait for it to actually become a Featured Article first since its FAC is not closed. GamerPro64 23:11, 30 November 2020 (UTC)

With Avengers: Endgame meeting GA criteria, the topic is now a Good Topic. However due to its prior nominations, I do not know how to properly nominate it. Can someone handle this? (Oinkers42) (talk)

We have a Nomination procedure. GamerPro64 00:53, 7 December 2020 (UTC)
