FTC[edit]

Hi Hawkeye, your nomination statement caught my eye; I will try to actually review this one. Meanwhile I did my articlehistory work on the talk page, where I noticed the open FTC (or is it a GTC? total mystery to me). As you know, it's pretty unusual to have an article at FAC and another assessment process at the same time. Is there a reason? Maralia (talk) 12:46, 30 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
No online reason; the timing is related to the Asia-Oceania Zone championships in late November. The article is part of a GTC set. GTC and FTC have the same nomination process, but a FT has 50% featured articles in it. A GT that achieves 50% featured through FAC can become an FT in that way. There's no chance that this one will ever become an FT, though, but all of the articles in it have passed GA, so it is eligible to become a Good Topic. An article cannot be at Peer Review, A class or GA and FAC at the same time, but as far as I know there is no prohibition on it being part of a Good Topic Set. Indeed, this is necessary, because when the threshold article goes to FAC, a Good Topic automatically becomes a FTC. If it were not allowed, you'd never be able to get it through!
