Discussion about GrahamColm's comments

[edit]

Moved from main review page. Nikkimaria (talk) 15:20, 8 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There are 15 people who are apart of Wikiproject Rihanna, but only 3 editors (inclusive of me) are actively involved, making edits everyday, and I don't mean to sound egotistical, but I am by far the most active in the Wikiproject, so how would people who I don't know be of any use to me? And I have re-nominated as I feel that the first FAC was unfairly and prematurely failed (less than 6 days, whilst other FACs which hadn't received any comments for over a week were permitted to stay). I will make the changes tomorrow. It is late now. And I put "fishnets, boots and a reggae-inspired leather playsuit with go faster stripes in red, green and yellow and a hood" so that it could not be said that I am plagiarizing as it is a description that someone else wrote. You have every right to oppose an FAC if you want to, but perhaps it is how you phrase things which should be considered more carefully. Calvin NaNaNaC'mon! 23:55, 7 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Calvin, I don't understand what you mean by "how you phrase things which should be considered more carefully". Do you mean here or my edits to the article? As it stands, it is most unlikely that the article will be promoted, I am trying to work with you – were my edits to the Lead not helpful? They took over an hour of my time to come up with. I think other editors whom you don't know (yet) could be very helpful. It's late for me too BTW, I am very busy in real life. Graham Colm (talk) 00:24, 8 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
No, I wasn't very clear. I think saying that it is "rubbish" to include something just isn't necessary. And I think telling me to find people who like Rihanna isn't necessary either, if they haven't come out of the woodwork yet, then I highly doubt they would now; besides, I don't like working on things with other people, it distracts me and I like to know what is happening. And yes, I agreed with the majority of your edit, thank you, but I am surprised that changing a few words around in the Lead took over an hour. Calvin NaNaNaC'mon! 00:32, 8 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
If you "don't like working on things with other people", you are in the wrong place; Wikipedia a collaborative project. An hour is a short time for me – I have spent longer on one sentence when working on an FA. Reluctantly, I oppose once more, this is a poorly written contribution that does not represent our best work. Graham Colm (talk) 00:43, 8 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Anyone can edit Wikipedia, but when it comes to working on something, I prefer to do it alone. Working with someone can take 10x longer and there can be misunderstandings in communications. I know several people on here who have said to me that they "prefer to work alone". And I would beg to differ that it is a "poorly written contribution".
