Wikipedia talk:Featured article candidates/The Post-Modern Prometheus/archive1
Appearance
- The image in the infobox needs its rationale to be expanded
- Shouldn't "5" be linked to The X-Files (season 5), not the episodes' list
- Where is the production code referenced?
- Where is the running time referenced?
- The actual episode. You don't need to reference the episode in an article about the episode.--Gen. Quon (Talk) 19:50, 28 August 2012 (UTC)
- Well, actually, it is the running time without commercials. There is something at the iTunes Store that you could reference, for X-Files Season 5. TBrandley 20:03, 28 August 2012 (UTC)
- The actual episode. You don't need to reference the episode in an article about the episode.--Gen. Quon (Talk) 19:50, 28 August 2012 (UTC)
- premiered → originally aired
- viewers in its → viewers upon its
- In the lede, I see "The episode was nominated for seven Emmy Awards and won one. The episode". Two sentences start with "the episode" there. Perhaps change one to "this entry", etc.
- that season → the series' fifth season
- In plot, link FBI first its first time. First mention in actual article
- Shaineh Berkowitz is missing actor in the plot section
- special agent Scully. For the FBI, also?
- Izzy is missing actor in plot
- Great Mutato is missing actor in plot
- Missing comma after "Drosophila" in the plot area
- Elizabeth is missing actor in plot
- Perhaps rearrange/move some images around. See MOS:IMAGELOCATION, which says images shouldn't start in a section at left side. But, there are little exepection, so. I don't really know
- Unlink fairy tale per WP:OVERLINK; common term
- Unlink folk tales per WP:OVERLINK; common term
- "comedy animation show" sounds kind of strange/weird for some. Change to "animated television sitcom", "animated comedy series", or something else
- In Production, link monster of the week since its the first time mentioned in the article. Also, monster of the week says "Monster-of-the-Week" in the lede. Which one? Probably go with the way used in the lede, "Monster-of-the-Week"
- and stands apart. Use "which" instead of "and". Also, it isn't the same as way used in lede. Choose one for that full sentence. In lead, it says is unconnected to the overarching mythology of The X-Files. In production, its different.
- Link wider mythology to Mythology of The X-Files. Linked in lede, in addition to that.
- Link Cher; first time in actual article
- Remove "had" in casting in "had also expressed an interest" sentence
- "movie" should IMO be changed to "film". Sounds like more of a word for Wikipedia
- "The first five seasons of The X-Files, including "The Post-Modern Prometheus", were filmed in Vancouver." reference
- In "Filming", link Emmy award, and capitalize "award".
- "his best episode score that season". Huh.
- "The latter is played at the end of the episode when the agents take the Great Mutato to a Cher concert.[12] The character". Two sentences start with the. Change it up a bit.
- Only link "sixth season", without "episode" linked in themes.
- ""The Post-Modern Prometheus" is the most obvious reference to Frankenstein made by the series, although traces of the story are seen elsewhere, in the first season episode "Young at Heart", the sixth season episode "The Beginning" and in the overreaching mythology of the show that revolves around shadowy Syndicate leaders who salvage alien spacecraft for their own technological use and create human-alien hybrids." Wow; that's a big sentence. Merge into two, perhaps.
- "the fourth season's "Home". Remove "the".
- In the image in broadcast/reception, link Chris Carter, as per WP:OVERLINK
- "The Post-Modern Prometheus" was first broadcast in the United States on November 30, 1997, on the Fox network. The episode subsequently premiered in the United Kingdom on October 17, 1998, on BBC One" → "The Post-Modern Prometheus" originally aired on the Fox network on November 30, 1997, and was first broadcast in the United Kingdom on BBC One on October 17, 1998"
- "The Post-Modern Prometheus" was first broadcast in the United States on November 30, 1997, on the Fox network." reference?
- Small sub-sections make the article kind of small jumbled.
- Re-write how Nielsen ratings stuff is wrote to match with "Triangle" and "Squeeze"
- Please explain what a Nielsen rating is for reader not aware of it.
- Link Nielsen ratings in broadcast/reception, since it is the first mention in the actual article.
- After its initial broadcast, "The Post-Modern Prometheus" received mostly positive reviews. → "The Post-Modern Prometheus" generally received positive reviews from critics since its original broadcast."
- "Series creator and director Chris Carter". Remove "series creator and director". That's already been clarified above.
- Missing a period in that sentence in notes
- Ref. 3: How are there two publishers. One should be in italics.
- Ref. 12: I think that citing/referencing the episode is original research. Replace/remove, etc.
- Ref. 26: WP:DASH problems.
- Why do some references end the url title with a comma, while some are with a period. Example: "Ref. 25 uses comma, and Ref. 26 uses periods."
- Don't think book references should be in small writing text. Consider MOS:ACCESS.
- "TheXFiles.com" → "XFiles.com". That link comes from X-Files.com, not TheX-Files
- on → at for first external link
- Remove external wikia link which contains nothing worthwhile not already present in the article. Consider WP:ELNO.
- Categories should be sorted in alphabetical order

Resolved comments from Crisco 1492[edit]
- FBI special agent Dana Scully - Since we already said they're partners, I don't think this "FBI" is necessary.
- Angrily confronts Pollidori Sr. but he ends up dead? Does Pollidori Jr. kill him?
- "The episode was heavily inspired by Mary Shelley's famous novel Frankenstein." - Is "famous" needed?
- "found it difficult to reconcile Mary Shelley's unbelievable tale with the style of the show." - No action required, just a bit of snark: he found a science-fiction story unable to be reconciled with a science-fiction show, with aliens? Star Trek would have had a parallel world based on the novel, like the gangster one.
- Perhaps a link to James Whale?
- No link to Anne Simon?
- "a friend of Simon," - Name available?
- Great Mutato in the Simpsons? Huh? What episode? I've watched every episode of the first 10 seasons and don't recall seeing a Mutato.
- Link season four
- Link Jeffrey Spender
- Perhaps link wide-angle lens in the image caption
- Should be special effects supervisor or Special Effects Supervisor, not Special Effects supervisor
- "seven 1998 Emmy Awards by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences." - Reads illogically. Perhaps "seven awards at the 1998 Emmys by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
- Starpulse - What makes their review significant and worth noting? TV Equals?
- Add citations after direct quotes.
- I did a light copyedit, be sure to double check.
- That's it from me. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 02:03, 1 September 2012 (UTC)
