American President Woodrow Wilson announced plans for ten additional battleships and six battlecruisers, - Clarify that this was for the American Navy, perhaps?

splinter bulkheads intended to contain any shell fragments and splinters - any way to avoid saying "splinter" twice?

I couldn't think of one.
in theory, this allowed planes to take off directly from the hangars while other planes landed on the top. - Which begs the question, how did they work in practice?

Duplicate links: Mutsu, casemates aft,waterline armored belt, deck armor. In an article this short there is no use for duplicate links.
