Purpose of report[edit]

I'm not really involved with GLAM, but why this report is on Wikipedia ? Amqui (talk) 01:47, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

GLAM is the name of a project to develop Wikipedia content related to cultural institutions. This report is on Wikipedia as an invitation for anyone who wants to get involved to be able to learn more about what other people are doing in this project. If you want to know more about GLAM then please ask. Blue Rasberry (talk) 19:37, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Challenges[edit]

Hi, I am Diederik, the Product Manager Analytics of WMF and I am bit surprised by the statement "lack of communication with the Wikimedia analytics team.". I started a wiki page back in January of this year to collect user requirements for the GLAM project. IIRC, I have not been approached by GLAM folks in recent months. In addition, I am on the board of advisor's of the Europeana project. The Analytics team has a pretty good understanding of the type of metrics that the GLAM are looking for and we are working very hard on Kraken, the data cluster that will collect these kind of metrics. We are also very easily reachable! Either by mailinglist, IRC, this talk page or email me directly. Please me know what the Analytics team is currently unaware of, or where you feel you are left in the dark. Drdee (talk) 21:46, 4 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for this, Diederik, and I am sorry if that came across as curt. I believe some emails have fallen through the cracks long ago, and I'll fully admit to my lack of due diligence in following up with them or attempting to connect with you via other channels. I appreciate you taking the time to reach out! LoriLee (talk) 23:56, 4 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
