This page is outdated[edit]

This page hasn't been updated for nearly 9 years and we should update it again, as the GAs now are radically different than the last update. Just a random Wikipedian(talk) 13:05, 24 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Would be amazing to update this page indeed. a455bcd9 (Antoine) (talk) 11:33, 8 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Mike Christie - is this something your bot could do? Or would it be a pain to manage? —Ganesha811 (talk) 16:04, 9 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'll add it to the task list for the bot. I'm too busy offwiki at the moment to get to it, but possibly in the next month or two. Would we want length in bytes (easy) or some form of word count (probably much harder, but might be possible)? Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 17:41, 9 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ideally, word count - I know there are tools that can get word count effectively (like Prosesize and DYK check) but I don't know how difficult it would be to port that functionality over. If it's not, bytes would certainly work as an alternative. Thanks for adding it to your list! —Ganesha811 (talk) 18:09, 9 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The bot is in Python and those scripts are in Javascript, but there are sure to be html parsing libraries in Python; I'll see what I can find when I work on it. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 19:05, 9 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Galobtter: thanks for adding a link to Wikipedia:Database reports/Good articles by size. Should we just edit the page and copy/paste the first articles from Wikipedia:Database reports/Good articles by size/1? a455bcd9 (Antoine) (talk) 17:45, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
We could just redirect this page there if people only care about articles sorted by word count. Galobtter (talk) 17:50, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
