Lessons learned[edit]

@Jamie-NAL: I am fairly new to this topic area and so it may be useful to share my thoughts while they are fresh.

  1. I spent most of my time on Introduced species of the British Isles. Notice that this article has had its title changed from "invasive" to "introduced". These concepts seem problematic as they are very much a matter of circumstance, degree and scope. I found that there were various lists associated with UK legislation and, when making local lists, think it's best to start with the species which are precisiely defined by law.
  2. As invasive species, by their nature, tend to be quite mobile and cross frontiers easily, it might be best to have a global list and focus. I found that there's a Global Invasive Species Database as part of the IUCN. This seems like a good place to start so I may do more based on this.
  3. The networking seemed to work reasonably well though my video seemed sluggish. I have just found the dashboard and have assigned myself an article there.
