Update

[edit]

I ran the tool again and updated since it's been a few years. I would imagine this is often done by bots though; is it? And if so, could we set one up for WikiProject Africa? Coffeerain (talk) 15:55, 10 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Article length

[edit]

I was trying to remove some of the article links for those already created on this page and my browser froze while opening the edit portion. May I suggest breaking it down into sections? I was trying to remove the "List of river of" for Togo, Ghana, Lesotho and Egypt. --NortyNort (talk) 07:10, 4 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Done I changed the configuration to have the tool return only articles with 10 or more links. That should cut out a big chunk from the list, and allow editors to focus on the most wanted topics. By the way, instead of removing manually the blue links, it's best to click the link to regenerate the table, since that removes all blue links and also includes new red links that may have become popular since the last run of the tool. Oh, and as a side note: attempting to edit the page on Firefox froze my browser as well, but Chrome seemed to deal with it pretty swiftly. If you're still having problems, give it a try. --Waldir talk 11:24, 4 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I feel more familiar with the tool now. If I ever make a new article, I search for the name (or variations of) and it will pull up articles that have it red-linked. With "List of rivers of Ghana" though, I didn't find anywhere near 30 in the search, like this tool indicated. Where does the tool find em'?--NortyNort (talk) 12:00, 4 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Probably they're links from templates. The tool attempts to filter these, but I suppose it might be a bit tricky. --Waldir talk 17:20, 4 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, makes sense. Thanks again.--NortyNort (talk) 22:03, 4 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
