Hi, stantonbk. I see that you're a very new user, and have apparently joined just to to sign up for this event. Welcome to Wikipedia! However, I don't think you're really registered for the Edit-a-Thon. It looks like you just typed your username onto the page, instead of following the directions:

  1. Click Sign In
  2. On the page that takes you to, Just click "Save page" at the bottom, and you're all signed in!

Citations[edit]

Hi there. A few points of feedback on the citation:

– Usually vertical citations are not typically used; I think horizontal are the majority of cites on Wiki now. Also, I personally consider NPR to be a news source, so I would recommend using the cite news template if possible.

– I also did a test citation and I think there are a lot of missing pieces not incorporated in your citation. Mostly, I am concerned about the linking to the OCLC record, which is already possible using the oclc=########. Would it be possible to link directly to the mp3?

Your cite in action
  • "Fresh Air with Terry Gross, June 13, 2013: Interview with Carl Hiaasen; Review of Slaid Cleaves' album "Still Fighting the War"; Obituary for Yoram Kaniuk". Fresh Air with Terry Gross. National Public Radio (U.S.) WHYY, Inc. June 13, 2013. Scroll down to 'View online' to hear the audio of the interview.

Forgive me, I am OBSESSED with citations, and am VERY excited by this project.

Thanks Erika. I like this solution better than what we came up with originally. The Fresh Air Archive was concerned that we use the Worldcat links since they are the most permanent/stable. @Mary Mark Ockerbloom and Smallbones: What do you think? Erika, I like it. I wouldn't just do the direct link to the MP3, but since you also have the OCLC link, that covers my worries. One problem with linking directly to the MP3 is that there are 5 minutes of dead air between the one minute promo and the start of the interview (to fit in the news). Would it be possible to put in a note like "Interview starts at time 6:00." BTW, you might also be interested in the little project I'm doing with the American Archive of Public Broadcasting Smallbones(smalltalk) 03:41, 7 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
