BATHROBES  FOREVER

Invitation to join Wikimedia US/WALRUS mailing list

[edit]

We'd also love to invite Bathrobe Cabalers and wiki-Southerners to join wikimediaus-l, where we already discussing The Great American Wiknic :)--Pharos (talk) 02:02, 11 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Have a great idea for a local park to host The Great American Wiknic in parts hereabouts this June? Add it to the growing list here: Wikipedia:Wiknic#Cities and parks :)--Pharos (talk) 21:14, 17 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, I'll still be here in June, I think. Why don't we try this? bahamut0013wordsdeeds 12:07, 18 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Cool! I've added Raleigh with a little question mark to the listing. Please add your favorite public park in Raleigh, or in another amenable wiki-bastion of your region :)--Pharos (talk) 18:02, 22 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Places to go and people to see?

[edit]

We need to hammer out some details of dates and times. Not sure if Irony or Bully are going to make it. It's all up in the air right now! Lara 15:31, 9 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I see RadioFan has added Lake Crabtree Park to Wikipedia:Wiknic for June 25. That's awesome! How about starting a meetup page for Raleigh 3 based on that?--Pharos (talk) 20:06, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The ideal place to start a new Wiknic page would be Wikipedia:Meetup/Raleigh 3 I guess.--Pharos (talk) 00:05, 15 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Considering that's during this planned meetup, it would make more sense to make it part of this page. Although, this meetup may not come together either. Economy is killing travel plans. One of the perils of BRC meetup planning—membership spans the globe, so getting people together in one place isn't easy. Especially when money is tight all around. So if you want to take over this page for that picnic, go ahead. I'm not optimistic about the meetup as planned now. Lara 12:05, 25 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
This is all too true. As much as I would like to see everyone again, the costs are just getting too ridiculous. Huntster (t @ c) 18:39, 25 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I got my dates confused with another event I'm planning that is June 24-26. If you want this page for the wikinic, you can move this page to Raleigh 4 and remake Raleigh 3 for the picnic. That way it makes chronological sense. Lara 23:56, 25 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
This doesn't at all have to be a big international thingamabob. If someone in the region would just like to step forward, WP:BE BOLD, and declare a Wiknic in whatever their small hometown happens to be, that would be awesome :)--Pharos (talk) 19:36, 29 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Is this thing on for 25 June in Lake Crabtree Park? Has somebody checked with the park officials to reserve space? comment added by Fairfax Geographer (talkcontribs) 01:30, 19 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
No, I don't think the previous planning has come to fruition unfortunately. The nearest other ones are DC and Nashville, and User:Anidnmeno was also interested in North Carolina around Wilmington.--Pharos (talk) 17:19, 19 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
