What about non-people? - if I have a picture of a bird, for example, and a twig is covering part of the beak, I might be able to create a faithful representation of what the bird should look like. What about older pictures? Is it (ever) valid to colorize? Colorizing this picture of a Jersey cow might help people to recognize a jersey cow as distinct from a Holstein, for example. The exact colors of the sky and groundcover are the main unknowns about that picture, and neither is relevant to the subject matter. -- ke4roh (talk) 15:19, 15 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
