Robots, please be aware that the tags on the essay are for illustrative purposes only. Date them if you want, but don't remove them. Anton Mravcek 23:59, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

change in slant

[edit]

I'd like to modify this essay in th efollowing way. I propose that:

  1. To indicate that the goal of reponsible tagging is for reviewers (also read more experienced copy editors) to communicate with deditors (read domain experts) how to solve quality problems within the article.
  2. There are two type of tagging strategies:
    1. Classification Notices - these only state - there may be a problem ... e.g. lack of inline ciation notice. They do not point to the domain experts how to start to fix the problem. They are also persistant in the sense that they often remain long after the problem has been adressed.
    2. Prescriptive Notices - these pointing out specific issues — and show the editor how to fix the problem. Once they are resolved they can be removed with confidence by the editor.

Inline tags have a Prescriptive function, while most notices only classify the article. This essay needs to recommend that the reviewers use the most specific tags or notices to provide colaborators with as much information as possible.BO; talk 14:39, 18 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Multiple issues vandalized??

[edit]

Wikipedia:Responsible_tagging#The_multiple_issues_tag_.28multiple_issues.29 I can't believe that's a serious section. Going to fix it up. CarolMooreDC 18:32, 19 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It is a serious section. Like the rest of the article, an example of some tags has been given along with an article that may cause said tags to be applied. Op47 (talk) 22:19, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
