Straw poll[edit]

content of this section moved here from Wikipedia talk:Semi-bots#Straw poll per Guidelines for creating policies and guidelines point 10, Do not call a vote

Since Francis doesn't want to have this guideline proposal edited, we can now do a straw poll whether it should be adopted. --Ligulem 17:01, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I kept part of your edits. This is a developing proposal. If you want the proposal to advance you're welcome to edit it. If you make it your explicit plan to be as destructive as you can, I think everybody is allowed to take your edits to the proposal with a grain of salt (that's logic, isn't it?)
Further, I do think this proposal still needs work, and explore options. I'd neither be prepared to propose the text unaltered for "acceptance", nor would I be prepared to "reject" it as a whole, and even less would I be "neutral". So what you propose as a "straw poll" is a vote (yes/no/neutral), inappropriate in this stage (a draft actively edited...), and probably even inappropriate in a later stage, per the guidelines for creating policies and guidelines: Do not call a vote.
So I take the liberty to abort your proposal to call for a vote. --Francis Schonken 22:47, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
