@Wehwalt and Dank: In the article lead, I recast ranging from a small shrub, 20 cm (7.9 in) high, to a large tree, 12 m (40 ft) tall as: "ranging from a 20-centimetre (7.9 in) shrub to a 12-metre (40 ft) tree."
