American short stories?[edit]
Why the word American there? Where these stories specifically about the U.S. or related issues? Many of the stories were written in Spain and Hemingway is America so ALL his stories are American stories. Seems superfluous and confusing, but I probably am missing something.

- It says the first American collection, not the first American stories. A collection was published in France the year before. This is explained several sentences down. - Dank (push to talk) 18:23, 24 January 2017 (UTC)
